Re: New to me machine

I got the spool gun free from miller when I purchased a new Millermatic several years back and threw it on a shelf for a few years because I was tig welding all of the aluminum projects that came along, which was not much. I finally put it together and that thing actually worked fantastic compared t...

Couldn’t pass up this brisket

Went into a local store that had some bone in ribeye roasts on sale, and grabbed one of them, But the real find was a brisket that I found was reduced to under $2 a lb. Truth be told, I was drooling over the rib eyes, and the Mrs found it. I couldn’t pass it up and made room in the freezer for this ...

I had to travel about 45 miles to get this deal in a small town where my folks live, so Most of that meat was for a buddy that wanted some for his weekend cooks My cook is for only for about only for about 90-100 people, but I am also doing ribs too and the Mrs. is doing all of the sides. Killer price on tritip

Whats up fellas, been still trolling here a bit but not logged in..Prices have gone down a little in my neck of the woods for meat. Got tri-tip at under two dollars a pound here in Central California. Picked up 12 bags today which average between four and five tri-tips each bag have a function that ...

Re: Small Propane Grill

Depends on if you want a tabletop or a larger one with legs. I had a small tabletop as my first grille in my Bachler days when I lived in an apartment. It used the small bottles, then later graduated to one with a full-size propane bottle and legs after I bought a house which allowed me more freedom...

Meat getting a little cheaper here, Maybe metal next??

I got a few bags of tritip @ $2.98 lb. Haven't seen that price since pre-pandemic. Got two bags with 5 each. Decided to individually vacuum pack each one (10 total) So I thought Id throw some on along with a few ribs.. Hopefully metal prices will come down soon!! May see more action on this forum on...

Re: First dp Gravity feed build

I use the flameboss 500/. The GF's do not need a ton of CFM to get up to and keep temp. At 100% fan speed, it puts out 21 cfm max, but it only goes that high until it hits temp, then backs off to 15-20% or less. I close the top damper down at least 75% closed to keep the heat after I hit temp. Once ...

I cooked (15) tri-tips and (16) racks of ribs in my gravity feed smoker for my son's high school graduation party here at my house last year and drained a full coffee can of grease out of my gravity feed smoker! I was surprised what came out. I do not wash that one down with H2o, but just give it a ...

That’s what I buy.. 2 - 20lb bags from Hd. Best deal around. 2 full chimneys and some oak or hickory splits and I’m good ! I read mixed reviews on Royal oak. Some folks loved it, others not so much. I’m just kind of stickin to what works until someone convinced me to roll the dice again. Sent from ...

Re: First dp Gravity feed build

I used the stuff from Amazon. It works fine, and it looks like in your case it is half price. Mine has been on my GF for almost 2 years and does not leak any smoke. They will need to add an !/8 spacer in the door when they weld the hinges on that way the 1/4" gasket will compress and seal. I usually...

Funny, I just watched this video about the very subject that you are asking about from Frank Cox. Might be worth a look. My take was, More insulation may needed in colder climates and not as much needed in warmer climates, like where I am at (Central Calif. USA). But I though that Frank made an inte...
