Hey Frank, curious if there is a rough ballpark as to what you should expect the Mack to cost? I assume there are a ton of variables that make it tough to predict but thought I'd ask anyway...

Also, I see a few others mention a 'mini' version of the Mack. Is that still in the works?

hey buddy! sorry for the late reply!!!
I always recommend retail price between $4000 and $6700 if on a trailer. depending on the builders cost. if you build it yourself you can easily expect new steel cost to be $1000 to $1600 depending on your purchasing abilities for new steel.

Wanting to build one, have a friend with a CNC plasma who will sell me the metal and cut it, (my 4x8 wood cutting CNC sadly won't cut it) and a welding shop next door. Hoping I can weld a bit also on it, maybe on the bottom where it won't show.

My question today is: has anyone build the Mack as a patio? I am on the fence between the trailer or patio style. My 30x36 home shop has a 36x20 carport in front, so the patio would work fine as it would stay on concrete. Use golf cart tires so I can roll or winch up on a trailer? Any thoghts?

I see no reason you couldn’t put it on a cart. Make sure you can steer it as it will be too heavy to lift one end to pull around corners.

I'm doing a couple big pipe fitting smokers. One will live on concrete, driveway to patio to pool side to covered side patio is all level. That one is on 10 inch steel casters, 2 swivel.

The other will need to go across a lawn to storage. We haven't completely figured it out, but currently thinking a single trailer axle very near center of gravity, and small car sized tires. With one axle, it should work for one person to lift one end and spin it around. A leg at each end would keep it from toppling.

Edit: these are about 1000lb, 600 for the tee, 250 for the firebox pipe, ~150 for the frame and casters.

Thanks, guys. I thought it should work, wanted to make sure. I have a 5x10 mower/4 wheeler trailer that tilts. Thinking I can mount a boat winch or even a 12volt model on the front of trailer to pull it on if I need to transport.
