Welcome aboard!! Your sketch looks like you've got it laid out like you want it but I can't see the whole spec sheet so I don't know if you have the correct dimensions. It looks like your fire box is undersized but I don't know by how much.
Yes sir that's what we needed! Everything looks good to me unless I overlooked something. Remember to leave a grease dam at the throat so that the grease doesn't run back through the throat and into the fire box.
This gets mentioned all the time but I might suggest you split your one 45 sq inch intake into two 22.5 sq inch intakes and cut one into each side. The two vents help in cases where the wind is blowing directly into your firebox and messing up the temps. You can then close off one and rely on the other.
My guess is you are planning one big vent in the door tho, which is ok too.
I completely forgot to post my final product...I lost my little brother at the age of 33 last year in June of 2020... the night he passed away... we spent hours discussing this build... and the things he wanted to do... so that my pit gave me a great experience... my old pit was garbage... he wasn't a cook or anything but he liked my BBQ... he was a welder and wanted to build me a good pit... so in his memory...his best friend helped me with this build... using my brothers welder and that is my brothers trailer... it may not be the best... but it sure means a lot to me...I hope you guys enjoy it...
