DP BUILD SPRING 2017

Post by Roamingbirdbbq » April 23rd, 2017, 11:00 pm

Hey guys. New to the forum. Been building various insulated verticals over the past few years. This is my second gravity feed. Sold my last one about 4 years ago, missed it since. I made a friend that owns high tech fab shop, so decided to let his machines do the cutting on my sheets metal. I am a hobby welder. Here's my weekend progress. All cutting done on angle and box tube. Some insulation stuffing and a little fab. Please chime in with any tips.

Nice build so far. Handy to have a buddy with a fab shop...

And welome to the crew.

Do you have more pics or plans for the vertical trailer smoker? I would love to build one for myself.

Looking good. Nice work. And braking the CC saves heaps of welding and grinding... :D

Question...
Ok to use galvanized nipples for air intake and drain? Easier to find than black.

The general consensus is to avoid gal on smokers.

I had to get the local fab shop to put a thread on some pipe for my mini, being in a country area I couldn't get them either. :kewl:
