Welding technique that reduces warpage
A few have asked about how to reduce warpage in a sheet of metal due to the weld joint
The key is to reduce the amount of heat in the Heat Affected Zone

One method of doing this and is very simple, is a weld technique called "backstepping"

I have used this method on stainless sheets many times and it does work, and as most know stainless steel tends to warp and pull more than mild steel.
The backstepping technique works well with mild steel too.
