Adding the milk. Don't add it all set the same time. It won't take all of it

Once it looks like this you are close. Add very little milk at a time until it pulls away from the side of the bowl and tries to lump up

My grandfather used to make biscuits every weekend but he never really shared his recipe, he called them catheads. If we were in a hurry they were served up with melted butter and Karo syrup, I was lucky enough to have him teach me his gravy recipe and technique. To this day anytime we have folks stay over I knock out a huge skillet of sausage gravy. Frank I may have to borrow your biscuit recipe just to have the total package. Since I have nothing to base it on, this might be the first time I don't tweek the ingredients on something before actually making a batch! :D

Oh ... :LG:

:needfood: Toss in some sausage links when you mail me the samples

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

good deal! Higher altitude is longer baking times. We are at 1000 feet here and it takes 10 to 12 minutes.

I know you guys are all about the made from scratch recipes, but here's one I use outta the box. I make a sweet cornbread. I use 1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix and 1/2 box of a yellow cake mix. Mix the 2 together and add the called for ingredients on the cornbread box and 1/2 of what's called for on the cake mix. Bake and enjoy!! ( It's best if you cover it with a nice helping of ham and beans)
