Finally had a few hours, spent them going over the outside with a sanding disc then finally first paint of Rustoleum. I have another hand or two and then I'll need to cook something

That is a sweet looking cooker. It deserves a high dollar paint job.
Don't forget to post the Q-view when you fire her up. :rulz: =))

Good point RC, at first glance I thought it was in Fahrenheit, the stuff I use is only 600C :kewl:

I didn't realize where you were but I was thinking that it should be about $40 or so for a quart.

Ok so I've got my double pan build plans. Bought the box of goodies for the build. Pretty much ready to start fabricating the smoker. I'm interested in these cyber q units. How do you know which one works for this size smoker? I want to be sure since they are kinda $$$

I always get the biggest and best so that it doesn't have to work so hard to do it's job. But see these insulated rascals work so well it doesn't take that much to make it work. I got the pit-bull fans and have only used one and my rig isn't insulated. But don't follow that lead insulate yours. Mine sits on a FB so it doesn't need it here in Florida. You get the cyber q and a pit bull and you will love it.

I also went with the pit viper, figured it's best to have the fan idle than have the fan work all the time and not be at the temp level you want

It's been about six months since my last post. I've had about six big cooks (though with this beast, no matter how big your cook is, it always feels like you are not close to the potential)
I use it with cyberQ, and it's a true set and forget.
I've had several cooks where I've put the meat at night, got a great night sleep and the feeling in the morning when you walk up to the Smoker and see the cyberQ showing cook temp right where you've set it...
Bottom line it's a fantastic cooker with a huge capacity. I am already thinking what charity event I can join to try and fill it.

I'll finish with some pics of today's cook. It started last night at twelve when I placed a brisket and short ribs in the cooker. At six in the morning I added a leg of lamb and a picanha and went back to sleep. Around nine, I added duck breast. I started pulling meat out around noon, by one everything was out and in a cooler for some rest to be served at two.
