2015 Gathering

Ok fellas,

It's getting closer to November so we better get this show on the road. I'm looking for those who live in Florida to suggest
places for us to throw down this "Gathering". Some things to consider are;

1. Some folks like to drink alcohol (apple pie) and such while enjoying some good fellowship and "Q".
2. Some folks would like to bring campers.
3. Some will stay in hotels.
4. Some will bring smokers, some won't because they come so far. But there is always sharing smokers.
5.We like to show up on Friday and depart on Sunday this is going to be either the first or second weekend in November.
6.Knowing Florida we may need an pavilion, or some pop-ups.
7.The main thing is we are going to have some good food and maybe some folks would like to share some of their tricks.
8. If you would like to demo some cool ways you prep or cook some items put your name in the hat.

And we are not limited to these ideas this is just to get us started.

I for one will bring my trailer rig and stay for the duration. I'm an early bird so I will be glad to work on breakfast meals and dinners too.

Wish I could but there's no way this year! Little one due the end of Sept. I'm gonna be lucky to get in a deer stand this season AND stay married! LOL

How far from Disney are you looking to be? My wife and I might think of a way to make this happen...no pin point exact location but a rough idea would be good to start.

I love Disney ....I was there in 1972 and still have the "magic"!

That's a good question but it looks like the place we are getting final details on are about 30-45 minutes from Disney. More details as we firm things up.

are you talking south FL or? I would be down for something closer north. What about a group build on a smoker?

I don't know the exact location yet but I know RC is planning near Orlando. As for the group build thing... we are still in planning things for something like that in MO at HQ sometime in the winter months.

This place is an old time Florida type of fish camp, they have some cabins, camper hook ups, boat slips, plenty of room for whatever we want to do and they welcome the BBQ rigs too, alcohol is permitted I know that is important to many. I would say if you would like to stay in one of the cabins give them a call and get more details on that. I'm not sure how many people can sleep in one but my experience with these in the past at least 4 can.

I'm sure DC will like the water park. Just seems like plumbers would. lol

The dates are November 13-15, 2015

I will have my boat there and my trailer smoker. So I'm sure we will have some fun. I hope to see lots of you there.

You can count me and my boat(s) in as well. This could be the juice I've needed to get my trailer rig finished. I'll have a welder/torch/&basic supplies available within a mile or so ('case anyone needs to rig something up).

Found out two days ago, I need to repower our inshore boat. That's no small chunk of change so I really don't know that my wife and I can go. We were trying to combine our visit with everyone with a side trip to Disney. It's so close we figured it's a piece of cake but not having been there in 10 years the cost has gone up a bit. With this new big expense, it's too close to call. Not completly out of the question yet but it's a thorn in my***

It's not the cost of the gathering...it's the Disney trip and the repower that kills it.
