Types of smokers

Post by dhafling » August 30th, 2021, 10:09 am

Did a sanctioned event a few weeks ago. Was shocked how many teams were cooking on UDS. This was in Texas at a IBCA event. Are a majority of competition teams using UDS or was this just an anomaly? Thoughts on using a UDS at a competition? One we are doing in October is disallowing pellet smokers.

UDS are cheap, easy to transport and simple to run. On occasions where multiple cook times and temperatures are needed for a small amount of meat, they are perfect.
